I am deeply honored and I thank each and every one of you that have supported me and placed your faith in me to represent our great organization as the FAFL Commissioner for the 2019-2020 season.  I am humbled, not only by the title I am being honored with, but also because of the caliber of people whom I will be ruling over.  

I can not help to see the comparison between myself and other great commissioners such as Jim Thorpe, elected as President of the young NFL in 1920 by his peers based on his personal achievements, skills, and reputation.  He was placed in a position of power to resolve the petty administrative conflicts between owners and to ensure that the league is strong enough to thrive into the future.

I also will look to the talents of the current commissioner, Roger Goodell, who has addressed many difficult issues thrust upon him by troublesome owners and players without fundamentally changing the league or wasting owners time on petty issues.  Without his decisiveness the league he governs would not be where they are today.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nephew Jones, who made his best efforts to keep the league functional during his time as commissioner, and want to all to know that I will not be too proud to reach out to him should and issue come up that I think I may need help with.

I do not take this task lightly.   Thomas Jefferson once said "It is far and away the best prize that life offers to work hard at work worth doing".  I feel fortunate to have this opportunity to work hard as your Commissioner to achieve great things, and I would like to thank you once again for granting me the sole authority to use this power over the league.  Thank you once again.
